![]() The main focus will be Bigfoot, which is also referred to as Sasquatch. ![]() ![]() ![]() In essence, the manner of listing for all the books will grow and mature as better ideas for a compilation are brought to my attention. In this massive, all encompassing listing I (along with volunteers) am making another valiant attempt, this time on the internet, rather than a printed book, so just about anyone who has a library card or access to the web can see what has been published on this fascinating topic. One only has to do a little bit of digital digging on the internet to find, for example, a sizable listing of books on another controversial topic, UFOs, to realize that many of the books are ‘recommended’ reading, meaning that some books were obviously left off the list. In 2023 with self publishing, the website Amazon and the internet, there appears to be a never ending stream of books on the Bigfoot subject, with some possessing more scholarship within the pages than others. I made a valiant attempt to list all the books I knew of that were about the subject of Bigfoot. In 1988 I self published a book called Big Footnotes and as the subtitle stated it was a comprehensive bibliography concerning Bigfoot, the Abominable Snowmen and related beings. ![]() ![]() ![]() Third, it wasn’t all about White men women, Native Americans, and African Americans played significant roles on all sides in the politics, military battles, land settlements, and opposition to American encroachments on others’ territories. Second, based on unassailable evidence, crippling payments were exacted from non-White people in the pursuit of Manifest Destiny to conquer much of North America. Three themes run through the book, whose basic narrative concerns the search for “elusive security.” First, nothing was foreordained many nations and peoples fought over the same territory when the American republic was weak and vulnerable. ![]() ![]() His subjects-events, wars, laws, treaties-will be familiar to those who paid attention in their American history courses, but Taylor presents them in fresh, thought-provoking ways. With characteristically graceful prose, he relates the costs and limits, as well as gains and triumphs, of the nation’s sweep westward after the Revolution. The author, a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and professor at the University of Virginia, is among the few historians who would attempt such a history of this single century of the American past. In a book that falls midway between narrative survey and classroom text, Taylor continues the story of the settlement and conquest of what became the lower 48 states. The acclaimed historian offers a relevant follow-up to American Revolutions (2016). ![]() ![]() ![]() In 1926, Babel adapted parts of the first two stories and additional content as a screenplay, Benya Krik, directed by Vladimir Vilner and released in 1927, as well as the play Sunset, which premiered in October 1927.
